As a registered ShakeOut participant, we are among millions of people who will be participating in the largest earthquake drill in U.S. history on November 13! ShakeOut is an opportunity to practice how to protect ourselves in earthquakes, and to get more prepared. Please reach out to your friends, family, and colleagues and invite them to register. Get ready to ShakeOut but don't expect to call them soon after an earthquake. This summer's Chino Hills quake showed how cell and landlines can be quickly overwhelmed in even a minor tremor. The earthquake described in the ShakeOut Earthquake Scenario is 5,000 times bigger, and phones will not work for a much longer period of time.
